A local legend who has made his name by skiing many first descents around the world. Epic adventures with fellow pro-skiers Trevor Petersen and Eric Pehota, that included first descents of Mount Deborah in Alaska, University Peak in the Wrangell Range, and the iconic East Face of Mount Tantalus.

Foon spent fifteen years skiing professionally for major ski brands, influencing the design of modern freeride skis, while being told "that skis can't be mass produced." Johnny has taken that feedback and carved his own shapes and designs, in his own name, Foon Skis.

Today, Johnny is out in the mountains skiing with Kye Petersen & Matty Richard, exploring new zones, and talking about the design and development of the skis they are creating together.

The Coast Mountains have attracted generations of unique people, and only a handful find the way to stand alone. Matty Richard has spent the last 18 years discovering the exclusive terrain throughout the Coast Mountains, defining himself as a true influencer of the local Whistler ski community.

Born on the east coast of Acadia, New Brunswick, Matty travelled to Whistler after high school, and never left. Over his time he has explored every mapped line throughout Blackcomb mountain, and even those lines not on the map. Matty continues to harness the same electric energy he has had since learning to ski at a young age, finding himself in the mountains every day that he can, continuing to explore.

Our man at the helm. Born and raised in the rolling hills of the UK Olly couldn’t wait to get into the mountains to pursue his passion for skiing and biking. After settling in Whistler, Olly quickly found his place with Foon, using his engineering background to further the development of Johnny’s ideas. When he’s not crafting your dream ski you can find him spinning tunes at the local Après Bar!

Buried in the workshop, bringing your skis to life, you will find Harley. Having not discovered west coast snow until his 20’s, he has been busy catching up. Coming from a mountain bike composites background, he is now putting his manufacturing skills to good use here at Foon. He’s often found on a chairlift in the Whistler Blackcomb resort, or cruising around the backcountry of the sea to sky.

The social butterfly of the team, Sam, also known as Shredl came fresh from Montreal after realizing that eastern Canada wasn’t sendy enough for her. This French Canadian wanted to expand her knowledge of the backcountry and joined our team out of pure passion for the brand. She runs our demo tent, built the ambassador team and takes care of all our social media.
