Matty has joined our team after 2 decades of success with Rossignol as a pro rider. 

Matty is now an instrumental part of our team with not only helping bring Foon in front of a larger audience through his presence in the ski industry as a top athlete – but also working with Johnny and our production team to collaborate on the future of crafting and design of our skis. 

His talents are not contained to sending it off cliffs – Matty is a highly respected mechanic and ski tuner, ensuring every pair of skis coming out of the Foon factory are met to the highest possible quality. Matty’s infatuation with the mountains grew instantly when he first moved out West to Whistler 18 years ago, and his love for chasing powder lead him to joining the Freeride World Tour in 2002/03 where he competed for 7 years and had consistent success, snaring several podiums and finishing second overall in 2006/07. 

Since finishing the competitive circuit of the Freeride tour, Matty has become one of Blackcomb’s most iconic athletes and personalities – Any line you’ve seen on that hill, Matty has smashed it. 

He is the epitome of a soul-shredder and is known in the industry for his contagious positivity, capitalising on everything the beautiful Coastal Mountains has to offer and is a keen surfer, mountain biker, moto-rider, climber, and all-round alpinist.
